Hey love,
My name is Michaela, and I'm a licensed clinical mental health counselor and the founder of Lotus Counseling & Wellness. I created this space for people who are healing, growing, unlearning, and figuring out what it actually looks like to take care of themselves without the guilt that so often comes with it. This space is also for wellness professionals looking for community and connection to someone who gets it.
I’m so glad you’re here!
The Lotus Letter is centered on the things I talk about every single day in my work: boundaries, balance, self-care, and peace. Things that requires honest conversations, hard choices, and a whole lot of grace with yourself along the way. Each issue, I'll bring you something practical and something personal. A reflection, a prompt, a gentle nudge. My goal is for this to feel less like reading and more like sitting down with someone who genuinely gets it.
A little more about me
I founded Lotus Counseling & Wellness because I've seen firsthand what happens when we run on empty for too long. I wear many hats: mom, wife, friend, author, and educator are just a few. I know what it’s like to overextend and struggle to say no. I've also sat with clients who had poured so much of themselves into everyone else that they'd lost touch with who they were outside of what they did for other people. I don’t show up just as a clinician. I’m a woman who’s done her own work. I know these tools are helpful because I’m living proof.

Beyond the therapy room, I'm also a wellness journal author and educator. My Positive Practices journal series was created to give readers a simple, accessible tool for daily reflection and intention setting. I'll share more in future issues, but everything I create is designed to support the same journey you're already on.
What to expect here
Every issue of The Lotus Letter will give you something you can actually use. You’ll get honest conversation about the things many of us are quietly navigating and learn how to be a little gentler with yourself along the way. For my wellness professionals, you'll find tools worth passing along to your clients, fresh ways to say the things you already believe, and gentle nudges to pour into yourself the way you pour into everyone else.
I'm really looking forward to building this community with you. If someone in your life could use a space like this, I'd love for you to pass it along to them.
Until next time, take care of yourself.
With warmth,
Michaela Praylor
